I went to Switzerland and Paris with my husband, two kids (aged 8 and 3 at the time), my mom and my aunt.  It was everyone’s first trip to Europe.

Our trip included a visit to the medieval town of Berne and a castle in Montreux, a ride up the mountain to see the Matterhorn and scenic train rides.  The highlight of the trip was to stand at the “Top of Europe” in Jungfrau and watch the clouds pass by beneath us. We also enjoyed exploring the Ice Palace at Jungfrau.  I especially loved the picture-perfect Murren and enjoyed the little picnic we had in front of the thunderous waterfall at Lauterbrunnen.

The ride on the bullet train from Switzerland to Paris was a first for the family.  In Paris, we saw the famous Eiffel tower, Champs Elysees, Notre Dame and the Louvre.  Paris was very beautiful in the evening when all the buildings illuminated. We enjoyed Paris in the evening on a cruise along the River Seine and on a Paris Illumination land tour. We wrapped up our vacation with a fun-filled day at EuroDisney.
