Disneyland Paris is the second Disneyland we visited, after the one in Disneyland Park California.  There were two parks in the area, namely Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park.  As we had just one day there, we only visited the Disneyland Park.

The castle in the middle of the park is a Sleeping Beauty Castle, similar to the one in California, but the one in Paris seems taller than the one in California.  Both were inspired by the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany that we visited.

The interior of the castle had stained-class images of the cartoon characters from the Sleeping Beauty animated movie.

We managed to catch the parade featuring various disney characters.  The Disney music was in French.

Two of the kids favourites were the car ride at Autopia and the Buzz lightyear laser blast.

The kids also liked the “It’s a Small World” ride, but we noticed that it was shorter than the one in California.

Disneyland Paris was a bit different from the one in California.  We noticed that it incorporated a European theme around the park like the windmills and the cottages.

The visit to Disneyland Paris was part of our 10-day Switzerland and Paris adventures which included Paris Cruise and Illumination, and Paris Sightseeing in a day.  You may also like to read how we  plan a family vacation to Switzerland and Paris.

Tips

  1. The park can be reached easily by train.  It is located just 2 minutes away from Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy train station.
  2. You can book your tickets at the official website Disneyland Park online tickets.  The default for 1 day ticket is for 2 parks.  Scroll to the bottom and click on the button for 1 day / 1 park for a cheaper rate if you just want to visit one park.
  3. We stayed at one of the accommodations near Montparnasse which is a major train interchange.  You might prefer accommodations near Disneyland Paris.
